In 2020, our world shifted. As racial tensions, a pandemic, and natural disasters took center stage a deep burden settled on the hearts of two men—Pastors Adrian Crawford and Dr. Chris Johnson. As men who are deeply familiar with the weight carried by Black leaders, particularly those leading multi-ethnic spaces, they knew something had to change.

Over the past twenty years, the number of Black pastors leading multi-ethnic churches has grown from 4% to 18%—a promising shift. Yet, behind the numbers, many of these pastors face barriers their counterparts do not, challenges rooted in the intergenerational effects of racism. Leading a diverse church comes with unique pressures, and without the right support, sustainability and flourishing can often feel out of reach.

But this burden extends beyond the church. As this vision took shape, we quickly realized these challenges aren’t confined to faith spaces—they exist wherever Black leaders operate. Whether in business, academia, medicine, law, or athletics, Black leaders across industries face systemic obstacles that demand tailored support, resources, and community.

That’s why we created The Black Leadership Summit—an annual gathering dedicated to equipping, encouraging, and empowering Black leaders. We are committed to facing these challenges head-on, providing the networks, tools, and insights needed to lead boldly, remain authentic, and drive meaningful change in every sphere of influence.
